Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Key Differences
Here’s a few informative key features that makes both Galaxy S25 and S24 Ultra apart from their core offerings. They are given down below:

Titanium Frame (Upgraded) | Titanium Frame (Grade 2) |

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Design & Build

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
Full Flat Frame | Slight Curved Frame |
Upgraded Titanium | Grade 2 Titanium |
Lighter build than previous model | Slight heavy than new model |
Well to start off, there have been noticeable changes with the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 Ultra in terms of design.
Previously Samsung made the S24 Ultra a bit curvier for the frame, while keeping the similar titanium framing. It was a bulky and at the same time hefty phone with 233 grams. Water resistance and even the front glass from Corning is really appreciated from users for making the device tough. There’s been a good amount of smoothness with in-hand feel, thanks to the curvy frame design.
In contrast, to give you a simple answer, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is fully flat with the latest design. And I’m not liking the design changes so far with straight to flat like seen in the latest ZTE nubia phones. Personally, I guess users who loved the flat designs or more of a boxier shape might find the new Galaxy S25 Ultra’s design really appealing. It does look sleek but due to pointy corners and flat frame, holding the phone feels a bit hard compared to last year’s S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Display

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
6.9-Inch | 6.8-Inch |
Gorilla Armor 2 | Gorilla Armor |
Always-on Display | Always-on Display |
Now that you know a few things about the design elements of both the devices, let’s go a bit inside and start talking about the overall display elements you are getting.
The thing is, there are no major changes in the display portion, except the larger display size and screen to body ratio. S24 Ultra had a 6.8-inch display with amazing AMOLEX 2x, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and a screen to body ratio of 88.5%.
In the newer S25 Ultra, you get all the features similar to S24 Ultra, but now with a 6.9-inch display and an upgraded screen to body ratio. And it is clearly noticeable with corners primarily. You get around 92.5% screen to body ratio now, which is around 4.5% improved screen to body ratio compared to previous S24 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Camera

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
50MP Ultrawide lens | 8K Recording | No 8K Recording with 12MP Ultrawide |
As like the mentioned info above, there are no major improvements in the camera segment of the newer model, the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With the previous S24 Ultra, you get the 200MP wide, 10MP telephoto, 50MP periscope telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide camera. But now with the S25 Ultra, there is just a larger megapixel camera with 50MP and a smaller aperture with f/1.9.
The photos seem slightly improved with the new S25 Ultra compared to the previous model, as you are getting the newer processor, making the photo processing greater of course. There’s also greater recording ability with the 50MP ultrawide lens, as you are now getting 8K recording for the ultrawide lens as well, which was only limited to telephoto and wide lens seen on S24 Ultra.
Rather than this ultrawide camera upgrade, there is no major improvement seen here. Hopefully Samsung will give you greater cameras in 2026.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Performance

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
Snapdragon 8 Elite | Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 |
Adreno 830 | Adreno 750 |
Up to 12GB RAM | Up to 12GB RAM |
Let’s talk about the most awaited feature of the devices where Samsung actually made noticeable changes. And it’s the newer processor from Qualcomm. Now you get a Snapdragon 8 Elite inside the big monster, giving you greater processing power compared to the older S24 Ultra which had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
There is a significant improvement in terms of processing power and the amount of performance the S25 Ultra can provide compared to previous S24 Ultra is really amazing. As last time you had octa-core with up to 3.39Ghz processing. Now with the newer 3 nanometer chip inside the bad boy, you are getting around 4.48Ghz processing power.
RAM and ROM are the same as usual, there are no major changes with upgraded memory speed or greater RAM seen in the latest S25 Ultra model.
Running multiple apps and playing the most intense graphics games like Fortnite or Genshin Impact showed really good fps and smoothness. You also get updated bluetooth connectivity, where the most latest headphones need to be purchased as well to enjoy this awesome connectivity feature.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: S-Pen

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
S-Pen (No Bluetooth, No Wireless Gestures) | S-Pen (Bluetooth, Wireless Gestures) |
With the S24 Ultra, you had better S-Pen functionality like taking notes, drawing and sketching your craft for becoming more productive. Besides that, you have air gestures with bluetooth connectivity with the phone, can capture photos for group selfies and even control your device for powerpoint slides.
In comparison, the S25 Ultra also comes with the S-Pen. And, you will be furious to know that Samsung is not providing bluetooth connectivity anymore. Assuming Samsung intentionally removed the bluetooth connectivity and as a result you are not getting air gesture or camera control features with the new Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: UI & OS

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
One UI 7 | One UI 6.1 |
Android 15 | Android 14 |
7-Years OS Update | 7-Years OS Update |
Previously, Galaxy S24 Ultra had the One UI 6.1 on top of Android 14, the customization and AI features were really useful and great to use at the same time. There were simple and attractive seven years of OS update, which made users make the purchase decision much more solid.
As for the new Galaxy S25 Ultra, you get the updated Android 15 and There’s also a new AI feature called “large language model”, which literally allows you to bring live photos to an AI-edited image by giving prompts.
And as like before, the background sound removing feature, also known as “sound eraser” works really fine for those who like creating vlogs in public, might appreciate this feature very well. There’s also 7 years of OS update and knox security just like the previous model.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra vs Galaxy S24 Ultra: Battery

S25 Ultra | S24 Ultra |
5000mAh | 5000mAh |
45W Wired | 45W Wired |
15W Wireless (Qi2) | 15W Wireless (Qi) |
Powershare | Powershare |
Moving on the last portion here, the battery power you get. And to give you a straight answer, it’s the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s biggest disappointment. Yes, that’s a harsh opinion to share from my end for a flagship smartphone but it’s the truth. I mean literally there is no improvement from the past few years in the battery segment from Samsung.
You still get the same 5000mAh seen on the previous model the S24 Ultra and also seen on its previous model the S23 Ultra. Yes, I agree Samsung made changes in the wireless charging speed by providing newer Qi2 technology and the same old 15W wireless, but “why would someone get a phone just for this?” is my question to Samsung.
There is good battery life in terms of hours calculation though, as to put it simply, you do get a better processor which will give you optimized battery life compared to last year’s model. Apart from this, there is nothing to talk about here. Hopefully, Samsung will make changes in future years, who knows!
