And honestly? That’s not entirely wrong. At a first glance, Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A56 are almost the same. Same 6.7-inch screen. Same 5000mAh battery. Same general vibe.

But the main thing is, Samsung has been making small upgrades in all the right places silently. So in case you find yourself on the fence and are wondering whether you should take the A56 (now cheaper) or the newly launched A57, this breakdown is just what you need. Let’s dig in.

Design and Build Quality

Feature

Galaxy A56

Galaxy A57

Build Material

Glass front (Victus+), glass back (Victus+), aluminum frame

Glass front (Gorilla Glass Victus+), aluminum frame, glass back (Victus+)

Dimension

162.2 x 77.5 x 7.4 mm

161.5 x 76.8 x 6.9 mm

Thickness

Slightly thicker

Slightly slimmer

Weight

Heavier

Lighter

Protection

Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, Mohs level 5

Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, Mohs level 5

IP Rating

IP67

IP68

The design and the build quality is the first thing that will strike you. Galaxy A57 has dropped by 19g than the A56, and the new model is 179g and 0.5mm thinner at 6.9mm. That may be nothing on paper, but in your hand? It really feels lighter, particularly when making long calls or scrolling.

Samsung also increased the water resistance from IP67 of the A56 to IP68 of the A57. The A56 IP67 is splash-resistant and rainproof, but the A57 can withstand an accidental drop in water. This is an upgrade, especially for a phone at this price. You will not have to worry much if you accidentally drop the Galaxy A57 near water.

The A57 also has the option of an added eSIM, which is also convenient when traveling or using two different numbers, so that they can have the digitized version of the SIMs at their fingertips instead of carrying two physical cards.

Display Excellence

Feature

Galaxy A56

Galaxy A57

Display Type

Super AMOLED

Super AMOLED Plus

Size

~6.6–6.7 inch

~6.7 inch

Resolution

Full HD+

Full HD+

Refresh Rate

120Hz

120Hz

Brightness

1900 nits

1900 nits

Both phones have a display of 6.7 inches with 120Hz refresh rate. No argument there. However, the interesting part is that the A57 becomes a Super AMOLED+ panel, a better material than the Super AMOLED in the A56. The bigger deal? The maximum brightness of up to 1,200 nits on the A56, up to 1,900 nits on the A57.

That brightness difference will be highly felt when you spend a significant amount of time on your phone outdoors, during the day, on the beach, at a game, etc. The A56 was already impressive with the display, but the A57 puts the outdoors viewing to a new level.

There are also better bezels in the A57. The A56 slightly had a bezel situation (the bottom chin was significantly thicker), which Samsung has corrected with the new model to make the bezel look more balanced and premium.

  .agbd-card {
    --cream:#fdfaf6;
    --cream-2:#f9f4ef;
    --stroke:#e5dfd5;
    --text:#2c2c2c;
    --muted:#666;
    --accent1:#f7b267; It works with social media and streaming, light gaming, and multitasking without any objections. However, when you overload it with several applications running, or playing games, or processing photos, it begins to slow down a bit.

Whereas A57 introduces the Exynos 1680, which is still a 4nm process, but significantly faster. CPU performance has improved by approximately 12.5 percent, GPU by almost 14 percent, and the NPU (where all the AI-related work, such as camera processing and system optimizations, is done) has improved by an impressive 42 percent. The latter figure is more important than it seems – it is what causes the camera to be snappier, the photos to process quicker, and AI functions to be smoother.

The A57 also features a vapor chamber that is 13 percent larger and is better at dissipating heat during heavy usage. Long video editing or gaming should be much more stable on the A57 than it is on the A56.

Camera Capabilities

Feature

Galaxy A56

Galaxy A57

Main Camera

50MP f/1.8 (OIS)

50MP f/1.8 (OIS)

Ultra-Wide

12MP

12MP

Macro

5MP

5MP

Selfie Camera

12MP

12MP

Video

4K 30fps, 1080p 30/60fps, gyro-EIS

4K 30fps, 1080p 30/60fps, HDR, gyro-EIS

Special Feature

Standard Zoom

Smooth Zoom Transitions

This is one thing that Samsung did not alter: the physical camera layout of both phones is almost similar. It has a 50MP primary shooter, ultra-wide, and a macro. So if you were expecting a dramatic camera upgrade on the A57, it’s more subtle than that.

The actual difference is the upgraded ISP (image signal processor) within the Exynos 1680. It processes light and color information more quickly and with greater precision and this is reflected in sharper photos in mixed lighting, more details in low light and faster shot-to-shot processing. The A57 has marginally better real-world performance, but the difference is not that significant, particularly in bright light, where the A56 is already doing well.

  .agbd-card {
    --cream:#fdfaf6;
    --cream-2:#f9f4ef;
    --stroke:#e5dfd5;
    --text:#2c2c2c;
    --muted:#666;
    --accent1:#f7b267; Practically, this would ensure that the A57 remains on the most recent platform version longer, which is handy, should you require future proofing additions such as enhanced privacy options, AI features and more efficient multitasking.

To a buyer planning to use the phone over three or more years, the later software finish line of the A57 would be clearly beneficial, but the A56 still offers solid long‑term support but may land one version behind the A57 in the later years.

Read More: Samsung Mobile Price in Bangladesh 25000 to 30000

Advanced AI Features

Samsung is pushing “Awesome Intelligence” and AI-driven features harder on the A57, since it aligns with the Galaxy S26 series software stack. The A57 is more refined in on-device AI features like smarter photo editing suggestions, improved voice to text summarization, and camera-based AI scene optimization, whereas the A56 is powered by lighter, simpler AI features that enable it to assist with photo editing and voice assistant capabilities.

The Galaxy A56 also has some AI features, but they are not as good as the ones on the Galaxy A57. For a user who likes taking notes and making their photos look better, the Galaxy A57 is the choice. And, who just wants a phone that can do simple things like voice commands or light AI editing, the Galaxy A56 is still a good option.

Overall Specs

Specs

Galaxy A56

Galaxy A57

Display

6.7″ Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 1900 nits

6.7″ Super AMOLED Plus, 120Hz, 1900 nits

Body

162.2 x 77.5 x 7.4 mm; 198g; IP67

161.5 x 76.8 x 6.9 mm; 179g; IP68

Main Camera

50MP (OIS) + 12MP (UW) + 5MP (M)

50MP (OIS) + 12MP (UW) + 5MP (M)

Front Camera

12MP, f/2.2

12MP, f/2.2

Processor

Exynos 1580 (4nm)

Exynos 1680 (4nm)

CPU

Octa-core (Up to 2.9GHz)

Octa-core (Up to 2.9GHz, New Architecture)

Memory

8GB/12GB RAM; 128GB/256GB Storage

8GB/12GB RAM; Up to 512GB Storage

Audio

Stereo Speakers; No 3.5mm Jack

Stereo Speakers; No 3.5mm Jack

Battery

5000mAh; 45W Wired Charging

5000mAh; 45W Wired Charging

Sensors

Fingerprint (Optical), Gyro, Compass

Fingerprint (Optical), Gyro, Compass

Connectivity

5G, Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.3, NFC

5G, Wi-Fi 6E, BT 6.0, NFC

Other Features

Knox Vault, Circle to Search

Knox Vault, Enhanced AI (Auto Trim)

Final Verdict: Which One Should You Buy?

Now you are aware of everything about A57 and A56, you may wonder which one you should buy actually. Well, the Galaxy A57 is a truly refined mid-range phone look. Samsung took whatever was good about the A56, which was already among the best mid-rangers of 2025, and ensured that it is better in every aspect of the phone that lasts over time. Slim, brighter, faster chip, better waterproof and six years software updates. Quite a good package.

On the other hand, A56 isn’t a bad option either, and if you can grab it at a discounted price now that the A57 is out, it’s still fantastic value. However, when purchasing fresh in 2026 and seeking a phone that can be relevant and supported many years down the line, the A57 is just the wiser choice.

Whether you’re leaning A57 or A56, getting hands-on time before committing always helps and Apple Gadgets makes that easy.
