Let’s be real – when Samsung launches a new A-series device, the first thing that most of us do is to look at the spec sheet and say, “Oh, this is almost exactly the same as the previous year model. And honestly? That’s not entirely wrong. At a first glance, Galaxy A57<\/a> and Galaxy A56<\/a> are almost the same. Same 6.7-inch screen. Same 5000mAh battery. Same general vibe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the main thing is, Samsung<\/a> has been making small upgrades in all the right places silently. So in case you find yourself on the fence and are wondering whether you should take the A56 (now cheaper) or the newly launched A57, this breakdown is just what you need. Let’s dig in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The design and the build quality is the first thing that will strike you. Galaxy A57 has dropped by 19g than the A56, and the new model is 179g and 0.5mm thinner at 6.9mm. That may be nothing on paper, but in your hand? It really feels lighter, particularly when making long calls or scrolling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samsung also increased the water resistance from IP67 of the A56 to IP68 of the A57. The A56 IP67 is splash-resistant and rainproof, but the A57 can withstand an accidental drop in water.  This is an upgrade, especially for a phone at this price. You will not have to worry much if you accidentally drop the Galaxy A57 near water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A57 also has the option of an added eSIM, which is also convenient when traveling or using two different numbers, so that they can have the digitized version of the SIMs at their fingertips instead of carrying two physical cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both phones have a display of 6.7 inches with 120Hz refresh rate. No argument there. However, the interesting part is that the A57 becomes a Super AMOLED+ panel, a better material than the Super AMOLED in the A56. The bigger deal? The maximum brightness of up to 1,200 nits on the A56, up to 1,900 nits on the A57.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That brightness difference will be highly felt when you spend a significant amount of time on your phone outdoors, during the day, on the beach, at a game, etc. The A56 was already impressive with the display, but the A57 puts the outdoors viewing to a new level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are also better bezels in the A57. The A56 slightly had a bezel situation (the bottom chin was significantly thicker), which Samsung has corrected with the new model to make the bezel look more balanced and premium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
